“Armenia Urges Swift Action from Eurasian Economic Commission to Address Regional Security Concerns”
During the meeting, the Republic of Armenia (RA) and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) discussed matters pertaining to their cooperation. Prime Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the significant role of the EEC as the largest organization in the region in terms of regional security. He highlighted the importance of swift implementation of crisis management measures and mechanisms within the organization’s sphere of influence. The RA Mission reported these discussions to NEWS.am.
Ararat Mirzoyan addressed the security issues in the South Caucasus and pointed out Azerbaijan’s violation of the principles stated in the EEC Act as the initiator of military aggression. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s large-scale ethno-territorial cleansing in Artsakh and the threat to international mediators’ interests through armed force. The Prime Minister emphasized the need for the international community to redouble its efforts in countering the intentions of those responsible for the aggression.
Mirzoyan underlined Armenia’s commitment to regulating its relationship with Azerbaijan in accordance with the EEC principles and internationally recognized standards. He emphasized that adherence to these principles is crucial for achieving sustainable peace in the entire region. The Prime Minister also mentioned the “Game of Peace” program, emphasizing its potential benefits not only for the South Caucasus but for a broader geographical area as well.
