“New York City’s Main Christmas Tree Shines Bright in Spectacular Lighting Ceremony at Rockefeller Plaza”

The New Year’s lights have officially been lit in New York City’s iconic Christmas tree, marking the start of the festive season. Thousands of eager spectators gathered in Rockefeller Plaza to witness the grand lighting ceremony. This magnificent spruce tree, standing at an impressive height of 24 meters and weighing a whopping 12 tons, was carefully transported from Vestal, a town in New York State, on November 11th.

It took an astounding 8 kilometers of electrical cables, along with over 50,000 dazzling LED lights, to adorn this magnificent tree with radiance. To top it all off, a stunning 400-kilogram crystal star, embellished with an incredible 3 million crystals from the renowned Swarovski company, graces the tree’s highest point.

Prior to the momentous lighting event, an unforgettable concert captivated the audience. A star-studded lineup of performers including Cher, Bono, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and Manuel Turizo took the stage, setting the ambiance with their sensational music.

The tradition of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center dates back to 1931, when it was first installed. Since 1933, the remarkable lighting of the tree’s lights has become a cherished annual event, eagerly anticipated by residents and visitors alike. To amplify the joy even further, the ceremony has been televised since 1951, allowing people from around the world to partake in the enchantment of this festive tradition.
