“Armenian Defense Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and EU’s Josep Borrell Discuss Deepening Cooperation in External Affairs and Security”

Armenian Minister of Defense Ararat Mirzoyan met with Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in Skopje on November 29. The Ministry of Defense reported that they discussed cooperation between Armenia and the EU in external affairs and security. Both Mirzoyan and Borrell emphasized the importance of achieving visible results in terms of security and well-being through closer collaboration and joint actions.

The representatives of the EU and Armenia also had a productive discussion on security issues in the South Caucasus during their visits to Yerevan and Brussels. Mirzoyan highlighted the significance of regional integration, internal consolidation, and regional security, as well as the implementation of practical programs for confidence-building measures and verifying intentions. Mirzoyan also presented the “Path to Peace” program implemented by the Armenian government.

Furthermore, notable progress has been made in addressing the needs and rights of over 100,000 residents of the Republic of Artsakh, including the identification of international partners committed to practical measures.
