“The Campaign for Goodness: A Push for Peace and Education in the Northern Caucasus”
The “Campaign for Goodness” project, according to Robert Ghazaryan, the director of the “Gehard” analytical center, is an important initiative for advocates of peace and those combating violence. During a meeting with journalists on November 29, Ghazaryan explained that the project’s goal is to raise awareness about the significance of education and peace organization in the region. Unfortunately, the Northern Caucasus, historically, is not an area where peace sustains for extended periods. Ghazaryan highlighted the numerous conflicts that have occurred in the region, particularly in the Armenian Highlands, which have caused significant losses for the Armenian people.
To promote peace, Ghazaryan emphasized the necessity for Armenian national resources to play a key role, but not exclusively. The involvement of neighboring countries is crucial for achieving lasting results. Ashot Sahakyan, the president of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia, added that peace cannot be limited to mere signatures on documents; scientific answers are required to address the multitude of questions that arise. Sahakyan expressed readiness to provide scientifically grounded responses to any activity, including peace, as part of the “Gehard” center’s work.
The “Campaign for Goodness” project was initiated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of the Republic of Armenia. It operates on a platform for regional news cooperation. Notably, Ashot Sahakyan and Robert Ghazaryan announced the establishment of the “Gehard” analytical center, which aims to counteract extremist ideologies in the Caucasus region.
