Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Accuses US of Weaponizing the Dollar in International Trade Wars
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused the United States of weaponizing the dollar in international trade wars. Lavrov informed the United Nations about this practice, stating that using the dollar as a weapon has become a recognizable phenomenon. He believes that unilateral actions by Western countries, especially the United States and Brussels, have not only affected Russia but also many other countries, leading to a reversal in the globalization process.
The Director General of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the rejection of Washington and Brussels’ escalating aggression has prompted many countries, including China and India, to consider alternative economic calculations. They recognize the importance of protecting their sovereignty and understand that there is no immunity from the consequences of the dollar as a weapon. Furthermore, Russia is actively discussing this issue with the BRICS in the context of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Progress is being made in introducing alternative payment platforms and transitioning to national currencies.
