“National Security Service Exposes Municipal Administration in Massive Corruption Scandal: Millions Embezzled from Public Funds”
The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia has recently released information regarding the results of an investigation into the municipal administration of Yerevan. The data obtained during the investigation revealed substantial evidence linking the administration to illegal activities, including financial embezzlement, abuse of power, and the creation of a criminal network within the organization. The administration was found to be involved in producing fraudulent documents with the intent of embezzling funds, particularly in relation to the procurement and distribution of food supplies for local school children.
As a result of the investigation, two companies, “HAYKAZONQ” and “PHOTON,” were identified as being involved in commercial and transportation operations within the municipal government and the organizations providing the food supplies. These companies were found to have secured their victory in the procurement process through illegal means. The investigation also revealed corruption within the procurement and distribution processes, with the use of false documents, document alteration, and other manipulations. Several employees of “HAYKAZONQ” CJSC, as well as intermediaries involved in wheat trading, were implicated in these illegal activities, with fraudulent financial benefits totaling approximately 55,000 USD.
Furthermore, questioning of around 20 thousand employees from local schools in Yerevan has taken place, with some providing testimony on organized instances of fraudulent activities facilitated by the municipal administration. These activities involved document manipulations and falsification of evidence. The investigation is still ongoing and aims to fully identify all individuals involved and determine the extent of the violations and their connections to the criminal activities mentioned.
