“Armenia’s Defense Forces Demonstrate Cyber Security Prowess in Joint Military Exercise”

From November 20-24, a “Special joint operation on countering cyber threats and conducting special operations in the field of cyber operations” themed military exercise took place, as reported by the Ministry of Defense. Led by Major General Vahe Ghazaryan, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the exercise also involved Deputy Minister of Defense Affairs Aram Hovhannisyan and the governor of Kotayk province, Aharon Sahakyan. The head of the National Security Council of the Republic of Armenia, Hayk Babayan, stated that prior to the exercise, the tasks and technology for destroying the enemy’s infrastructure were presented. Various organizations and institutions participated in the exercise, including the National Security Council, the Yerevan Municipality, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The exercise was conducted in multiple phases, with a focus on countering cyber threats and restoring public order. Special operations were carried out to neutralize the enemy’s armed formations and eliminate explosives found in vehicles. These operations made use of special equipment and technology. The participants of the special joint operation group demonstrated high professionalism in solving the challenges they faced. The goal of the exercise was to assess the operational capabilities and special operations of the National Security Service, while also enhancing cooperation between the involved forces and resources.

During the final stage of the exercise, the military personnel showcased their combat readiness in the presence of high-ranking officials. The successful completion of the exercise underscored the effectiveness of the training and the dedication of the participating individuals and organizations. It also served as an opportunity to strengthen the overall security and defense capabilities of Armenia. The Ministry of Defense and related authorities will continue to prioritize and invest in such exercises to ensure the country’s readiness to counter cyber threats and deal with various security challenges.
