“AMASS Group Frees Arrested Member Amid Russian Pressure; Israeli Citizen’s Release Expected”
The AMASS group, led by Pashinyan, made an announcement on their Telegram channel yesterday evening, stating that a member of the group who had been detained in Russia has been set free. The release was reportedly in response to the requests made by the relatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the group’s stance on safeguarding Russia’s interests.
Today, Channel 12 TV station reported, based on two sources, that AMASS might release an Israeli citizen with ties to Russia as per Russia’s request. The number of Russians currently held by AMASS is unknown, although Russian defense lawyer Anatoly Viktorov stated that there is at least one.
Musa Abou Marzook, who serves as the head of AMASS international relations and is a member of the committee, stated that the release of the detainees is being actively pursued, particularly in connection with individuals associated with Russia’s interests. In October, a representative from AMASS visited Moscow and engaged in discussions revolving around prisoner releases, as well as matters concerning Russian and foreign city residents, as reported by Kommersant.
