The wars throughout history have been long and devastating, with one common factor – the emergence of secret negotiations and clandestine operations when conflicts arise. Vahé Hovhannisyan, the head of the Alternative Projects Group, highlighted this in an article. He mentioned that D. Arakhamiya, the head of the Green Party’s “People’s Army,” announced that Russia proposed to end the war in 2022 with one condition: non-interference in Ukraine’s domestic affairs. However, this offer was rejected, as stated by the then British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Amidst the unprecedented war, we must ask ourselves who is responsible for the countless casualties, destroyed cities, displaced refugees, and the devastation of an entire country. Both the people and governments hold significant responsibility for engaging in unaccountable wars and lacking connection with the state. One day, someone will come forward and reveal who prevented the end of the 44-day war. It was believed that in early October, the war could have been avoided if only the Armenian side remained committed. Whoever hindered the ceasefire bears responsibility.

The cessation of hostilities on October 19 marked the conclusion of the war, leaving behind a grim loss of lives and wounded veterans. The absence of large-scale military operations and subsequent agreements signify the gravity of the situation. Our war is unprecedented, filled with bloody secrets where multiple parties are accountable. Since 2021, I have proposed the establishment of an independent war investigation group to uncover answers through meticulous analysis. I have suggested both official and personal meetings, aiming to initiate a mass process that would lead to a realistic representation. This process would liberate the burden of bombs and trauma, ultimately leading to fundamental changes in public consciousness and our country.

Unfortunately, for various reasons, these efforts did not come to fruition. However, it is essential to recognize that those who make decisions resulting in specific consequences have also made mistakes. Nevertheless, this does not alter the global reality. The secrets of the war will be unveiled one day.
