“Zang (Bell) Movement for Dignity Returns: Street Protests to Resume in Armenia”

The Movement for Dignity, now known as “Zang” (Bell), has announced its resurgence with a statement declaring its intention to resume street protests and activities from November 25th at Mashtots Square. Led by Michael Nahapetyan, who parted ways with the “Civil Contract” party, Zang aims to address the concerns and demands of the Armenian population regarding the results and developments of Artsakh’s self-defense and the current situation in Armenia.

The announcement highlights the pressing nature of these issues, given the misuse of power by the current government, violations of rights and freedoms, as well as the country’s security and development. To accomplish their objectives, Zang seeks to remove the current governing force and replace it with capable leaders who prioritize the movement’s interests and demands. Discussions, a road map, and a political agenda have been initiated to facilitate joint decision-making through citizen dialogue, ensuring physical security, rights, cultural autonomy, and the protection and development of the state’s capabilities.

To remove the current governing force and implement their principles, Zang plans to work with temporary managers who align with the movement’s values. For more detailed information on their principles and political agenda, they offer a Manifesto for reference.

Recognizing potential concerns about their goals and activities, Zang provides links to address common questions, such as the reason behind the movement’s name, the program it follows, the leadership, and the new approaches employed for success.
