“Road Infrastructure Department Director Inspects Progress of Gyumri-Harar Highway Construction”

The director of the Road Infrastructure Department, Gor Avetisyan, recently visited the construction site of the Tranche-2 section of the Gyumri-Harar highway. Located approximately 8 km from Agarak, the construction works are currently underway by various engineering and construction companies involved in the project. According to the technician, about 30% of the physical progress has been achieved.

Furthermore, the contractor reported that during this period, approximately 142 thousand cubic meters of excavation works, including blasting, have been completed. The total volume of excavation works, including the basement, is estimated to be around 540 thousand cubic meters. Additionally, about 442 thousand cubic meters of filling works have been carried out. The project aims to complete approximately 850 thousand cubic meters of filling works in total.

Within the 8 km highway section, 43 archaeological structures have been constructed. Two underpasses and one village technical road have been completed during this period. Currently, there are ongoing efforts to construct 16 buildings for the landscaping and beautification phase. Additionally, there are plans to build a transport interchange near the town of Voskevan in the future, pending the approval of the transportation plan by the RA SRC.

According to Cknt.Gov.am, work on the construction project will commence as scheduled, provided favorable weather conditions. The implementation of work programs and agreements will be carried out in accordance with technical specifications and under the supervision of qualified technicians and workers, following the prescribed work and contract period schedule.

During discussions with representatives of the construction company, the director of the Road Infrastructure Department emphasized the importance of adhering to technical specifications and quality indicators outlined in the work program and contract. It was also stressed that qualified technicians and workers should be involved in the project, ensuring compliance with technical land registration processes. All work should be completed within the agreed-upon schedule.
