President Simonian Raises Concerns Over Armenia’s Exclusion from CSTO Peacekeeping Mission and Resource Allocation

President Aleksey Simonian raised concerns today during a briefing with journalists from the State Department, stating that Armenia may not have participated in the CSTO peacekeeping mission it should have been involved in, and that there was a lack of resource allocation. Simonian acknowledged that he couldn’t confidently say for certain, but expressed his assumption on the matter. Additionally, he mentioned that Azerbaijan is trying to portray Armenia as a country in crisis, emphasizing its involvement and military plans. Simonian countered these claims by officially announcing that Armenia has no intention of engaging in military activities with any country and questioned why Armenia would need such a vast amount of weaponry and ammunition worth billions of dollars. He hinted at the possibility that Azerbaijan may have atomic bombs. Simonian further highlighted that during the current Israeli aggression, Azerbaijan has the capability to move its troops. Despite the skepticism regarding Azerbaijan’s constructive engagement, Simonian noted that Armenia is actively participating in dialogue regarding assistance from Azerbaijan.
