“Military Confrontation Escalates as US Takes Action Against Iranian-backed Groups in Iraq”
The United States has reported addressing two incidents in Iraq involving “civilians supported by Iran,” according to a US official. Previously, the United Nations had been hesitant to respond to incidents in Iraq. However, on Wednesday evening, a statement revealed the presence of American military personnel in an incident involving two objects. The statement stated that these incidents were in direct response to US and coalition forces’ operations against Iranian-backed groups supported by Iran. The US Department of Defense representative provided information stating the incident did not impact the management and investigation team of the “Kut Hibullahah”-operated center in Al-Anbari and Jurf Al-Sakar (south of Baghdad), without providing a specific name.
