The government of the Republic of Armenia has conducted operational-investigative measures that have uncovered evidence of illegal activities in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. Specifically, it has been revealed that T.K., the head of the Social Service department, and H.S., another department head, have been engaged in paid work outside of their official duties, with the assistance provided by L.M., a social worker. This collaboration involved performing various tasks and receiving different amounts of payment.

According to NEWS.am, preliminary data suggests that L.M., an employee of the Social Service department, collaborated with a resident of Marganush village to fraudulently extend the recipient’s temporary social assistance and receive state social care in return for a payment of 30,000 AMD.

Furthermore, L.M. provided similar services to another resident of Marganush village, facilitating the extension of temporary social assistance and state social care in exchange for a payment of 35,000 AMD in September 2023.

It has also come to light that T.K., H.S., and L.M., who were salaried by the state, along with E.K., an intermediary, paid five individuals involved in work and social care a total of 300,000 AMD. Out of this amount, 200,000 AMD was transferred to H.S., who is a public servant.

T.K., H.S., L.M., and E.K. have been arrested and charged with misusing their official positions, embezzlement, and forgery. The investigation into the case is ongoing, with operational-investigative measures and forensic procedures being employed to fully uncover the extent of their crimes.
