“Catholicos Karekin II and President Barham Salih strengthen Armenian-Iraqi relations during official visit”

On November 22, the Second Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Karekin II, and the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih, paid an official visit to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in Armenia. The visit was seen as a sign of the importance placed on strengthening the relations between Armenia and Iraq, as well as promoting bilateral cooperation.

Catholicos Karekin II acknowledged the significant role played by the Armenian community in Iraq in fostering relations between the two countries, as well as in preserving the spiritual life of its people. The protection of the Armenian Church was also discussed during the visit.
