The Public Committee on the issue of refugees and internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan has announced their plans to resettle individuals in Stepanakert. According to APA, only residents registered in the areas where mandatory residence is provided to internally displaced persons will be relocated in Shusha, the capital of Mountainous Karabakh. Earlier, the authorities of Azerbaijan expressed their intention to resettle 140,000 people in the region of Mountainous Karabakh, surpassing the number of Armenian population in the region, even during its most prosperous years as part of the CIS.
