“Prime Minister of Armenia and Canadian Senator Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Humanitarian Concerns”
On November 21, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, met with Leo Housakos, a member of the Senate of Canada. They discussed the political dialogue between Armenia and Canada, along with the positive developments in bilateral cooperation. The focus was on investment and increasing the Canadian presence in Armenia. They also talked about the possibility of opening a Canadian consulate in Yerevan and Armenia’s participation in Canada’s Eastern Partnership program. Additionally, they emphasized the need to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries, considering their already friendly and value-based relations. Pashinyan raised concerns about the ongoing violations of rights and freedoms of displaced Armenians resulting from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the violations of international humanitarian law.
