Military-Industrial Complex Scandal: Director Arrested for Corruption and Embezzlement
On November 18, it was announced that the director of one of the companies in the Spas Union, part of the military-industrial complex in the Ereboon division, had been arrested on corruption charges. The director had claimed to have delivered goods worth about 2,360,000 drams to a person named Mikhail, with the condition of same-day payment. However, after receiving the goods, Mikhail did not pay and instead embezzled them.
According to NEWS.am, an investigation has revealed that the corrupt individual is a 54-year-old resident of Yerevan who had been using a false identity. On November 20, he was apprehended and taken to the Ereboon department of the Arshakunyats police station.
A portion of the embezzled goods has been recovered, but efforts are still underway to locate the remaining items. All relevant documents have been submitted to the investigative unit, and the investigation remains ongoing.
