Controversy Strikes Bright Armenia Party as Chairman of Anti-Corruption Committee is Dismissed
The newspaper “Zhoghovurd” has reported that Sasun Khachatryan, the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee and brother of Davit Khachatryan, a member of the Bright Armenia Party (BDCH), has been officially dismissed from his position. According to sources within the BDCH, there are rumors circulating about a potential replacement for Davit Khachatryan. It is believed that the country’s political authorities have discussed the possibility of appointing Arayik Zeinalyan, the former Prime Minister and current member of the Supreme Judicial Council of the RA, in his place.
It should be noted that on October 25, the RA Court of Cassation appointed Sasun Khachatryan upon the recommendation of the RA Judicial Department. In addition, Naira Hovsepyan, a BDCH member, was selected as a judge for the RA Administrative Court. The Supreme Judicial Council has already made decisions regarding the appointments of Davit Khachatryan, Anahit Hakobyan, and Manvel Shahverdyan.
The proposal for the appointment of the Chairman of the RA Court of Cassation to the Supreme Judicial Council came from Davit Khachatryan, Anahit Hakobyan, and Manvel Shahverdyan.
