During the aggressive war initiated by Azerbaijan against Karabakh and Armenia, numerous human rights violations have taken place. These include torture, displacement of tens of thousands of people, killings of civilians, destruction and burning of houses, and other crimes against humanity. In a recent press conference, Eghishe Kirakosyan, the representative of the RA Ministry of Justice on international legal issues, highlighted the active use of international legal mechanisms to address these abuses. Specifically, he mentioned Armenia’s engagement with the European Court of Human Rights to raise awareness of violations committed by Azerbaijan. Kirakosyan emphasized the importance of creating preventative measures within international legal frameworks to avoid the recurrence of such violations.
