“Street Racing Chaos in Yerevan: Police Launch Criminal Investigation After Violent Collision”

In Yerevan, a case of “street racing with violation of traffic rules” was reported, according to shamshyan.com. The website provided information that on November 17, at 16:30, the RA Police received operational intelligence regarding street racers racing on Davit Bek Street. It was discovered that at 16:20, on the same street, a collision occurred involving two cars: a Toyota driven by Vitali Avdian and a Mercedes driven by Arsen Mkrtchyan, also known as Arsen Yerevantskin.

The website reports that during the investigation of the accident, it was revealed that Avdian had collided with various parts of Mkrtchyan’s body. As a result of operative investigative measures, it was discovered that a total of 13 individuals were involved in street racing, including Arsen Yerevantskin. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 297 (hooliganism) of the RA Criminal Code in relation to the case. Additionally, efforts are being made to ascertain the necessity of conducting necessary operational investigation measures with respect to Vitali Avdian and his associations with other individuals.

According to the information provided on the website, Vitali Avdian is also considered a “street racer.” The investigation is currently underway to determine whether the individual receiving medical treatment as a result of the collision with the crash barriers was involved in the street racing incident or not.
