“Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Urges Global South Leaders to Unite Against Terrorism at G-20 Summit”
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on the leaders of countries participating in the G-20 summit to unite against international terrorism, according to a report by Al Jazeera.
“It is time for the countries of the Global South to come together for the greater good,” said Modi, who is set to attend over 100 bilateral meetings during the G-20 summit.
As the current chair of the G-20, India has made a commitment to “elevate the voice of the Global South” and facilitate progress on key decisions during the summit, which will take place in September at the “Big Tent” international convention center.
In his speech, Modi highlighted that progressive countries share similar priorities and condemned acts of violence against civilians in Israel, as well as the ongoing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“India has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7 and expressed our heartfelt condolences. We firmly stand for diplomacy and intellectualism. We are actively investigating the reported civilian casualties in Israel and the ongoing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” stated Modi.
