Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the possibility of France joining BRICS during an international cultural forum in St. Petersburg. Putin stated that if France desires to be a part of BRICS, it should officially declare its intention and the matter will be discussed and forwarded to the “RIA Novosti” agency. Additionally, Putin mentioned that Russia will assume the role of the BRICS chair next year. It is worth mentioning that BRICS currently comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
