Armenia remains committed to its membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and has no plans to withdraw, according to Ghevorg Papoyan, the leader of the Civic Agreement political party. However, he noted that there have been conflicting statements about the location of the base and the boundaries between Armenia and Azerbaijan. “There have been many contradictory statements about the location of the base and the borders. People are moving the borders of countries according to their own liking. It is important for the CSTO to publish a document clarifying the boundaries, so that we know who is responsible for any actions that take place within our territory,” Papoyan explained.

He expressed concerns about the potential for misunderstandings and urged the CSTO to specify a clear position on the territorial integrity of Armenia. Papoyan also highlighted the need for the Russian forces, as part of the CSTO, to clearly define their coordinates and establish a clear understanding of the boundaries in Yerevan.

An expert from the Foreign Affairs Committee suggested that the Russian side may need to clarify certain undefined coordinates in Yerevan.
