“Armenia Braces for Heavy Snowfall: Coastal Areas and High-Altitude Regions Affected, Weather to Normalize by November 21st”

The “ArmenHydromet” service of the regional government has announced that heavy snowfall is occurring in the coastal areas of the Black Sea and in high-altitude areas above 2000 meters in the Republic of Armenia. As a result, localities and settlements are experiencing snow accumulation. Currently, there is snow in Shirak, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, and Vayots Dzor regions, with snow reaching heights of 5-10 cm in certain sections. While the snowfall will continue in Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions, it is expected to cease in the rest of the republic’s territory starting from the day after tomorrow. Notably, the Zangezur Mountains, also known as the Vorotan Range, are experiencing particularly heavy snowfall, and these areas can be accessed by footpaths.

According to the latest forecast, on November 18, there will be no snow accumulation throughout the entire territory of the republic. On the 19th, snowfall will stop in certain regions, and from the afternoon of the 20th until the night of the 21st, snow accumulation will occur again in large parts of the regions, especially in mountainous areas.

Fortunately, beginning from the afternoon of November 21, the weather is expected to gradually improve. However, it should be noted that the air temperature will drop by 5-7 degrees Celsius on the evening of November 20 and the night of the 21st.

This is the latest news from Armenia.
