Yerevan City Hall’s Accounting Manager Indicted for Embezzling City Budget; Indian Citizen Identified as Suspect
Yerevan City Hall’s accounting manager has been indicted for embezzling a large sum of money from the city’s budget. The incident was reported by Shamshyan.com. On November 11th, Aram K., a 41-year-old resident of Kotayk Province, filed a complaint with the RA NSS. He stated that he works at “Yerevan Bus” CJSC and operates a Zhongtong brand bus that was carrying passengers during the incident. Aram K. informed the police that while driving near Nubarashen, an unknown person threw a rock at the bus, causing damage and injuring the passengers. Yerevan City Hall incurred a material loss of 280,000 AMD as a result.
Following the incident, the employees of the municipal department of Yerevan City Hall, which is a subdivision of the municipality’s urban development department, took immediate measures to clarify the situation. The suspect, identified as Singh Harmadin, is a 27-year-old Indian citizen from the Republic of India. The municipal department of Yerevan City Hall is now taking necessary measures to inform the relevant authorities of the Republic of Armenia about the incident.
