On November 16, at 13:29, a distress call reporting a car fallen into a pit on Monte Melkonian Street in Yerevan’s Isakov district was received by the national emergency center.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia has confirmed that the scene has been identified and assessed by a search and rescue team from the MES Yerevan City Rescue Department.

It appears that a “Mercedes-Benz” car, driven by R.M., veered off the road and entered the inner channel of the Hrazdan River. The driver sustained injuries in the accident.

Rescue personnel were able to reach the injured driver using a rescue vehicle and he has now been hospitalized for treatment.

With the assistance of special technology, rescue workers were able to drain the water and successfully extract the vehicle from the river.
