Armenia’s education, science, culture, and sports administration has taken the initiative to fund the distribution of Russian language textbooks to schools, with the aim of promoting the study of educational materials in Russian. This collaboration between the Armenian National Assembly’s presiding committee, the Russian-Armenian interparliamentary friendship group, and the Russian Embassy has resulted in the procurement of over 50,000 additional textbooks and the teaching of Russian in Armenian schools. Recently, on November 11, the textbooks were delivered to Armenia, marking the beginning of the distribution process in schools that have shown a high demand for them. It is notable that Armenia’s education and science administration themselves requested these textbooks, showing their commitment to fostering the study of Russian language.
In an interview with Telegram on November 16, Yuri Vorobyov, a representative of the Russian Embassy, spoke about the successful collaboration between the various bodies involved in this initiative. He emphasized the positive relationship between the Armenian National Assembly’s presiding committee, the Russian-Armenian interparliamentary friendship group, and the Russian Embassy, as they worked together to procure the additional textbooks and promote the teaching of Russian in Armenian schools.
Vorobyov also mentioned that the Russian government has increased their efforts in Bishkek to address the issue of textbook distribution, discussing the matter with the Armenian interparliamentary group. He expressed optimism that any obstacles hindering the distribution process will be resolved soon. This demonstrates the commitment of both the Russian and Armenian authorities to ensure the smooth distribution of the Russian language textbooks to schools in Armenia.
This initiative by Armenia’s education and science administration is a positive step in promoting the study of Russian language in Armenian schools. By providing the necessary textbooks and creating opportunities for the teaching of Russian, they are enriching the educational experience and fostering cultural exchange between Armenia and Russia. The collaboration between the Armenian National Assembly’s presiding committee, the Russian-Armenian interparliamentary friendship group, and the Russian Embassy showcases the strong bilateral ties between the two nations. Overall, the distribution of Russian language textbooks is a significant development in enhancing educational opportunities for students in Armenia.
