“Construction Agreement Signed for Vital Sisian-Stepanakert Highway: Boosting Armenia’s Infrastructure Development”
The construction agreement for the technical supervision of the Sisian-Stepanakert highway section, spanning 32 km, has been signed. The agreement was signed by Gor Avetisyan, the executive director of the “Highway Department” foundation, and Robert Petrosyan, the director of the Croatian Institute IGH, Joint-Stock Company for Research and Development in Civil Engineering. Armenia’s Minister of Transport, Christen Ghalachyan, emphasized the importance of the construction of the Sisian-Stepanakert highway in his speech. The minister expressed hope that IGH, Joint-Stock Company for Research and Development in Civil Engineering (Croatia) will use its expertise to successfully implement the construction of the highway section. He noted that the Ministry of Transport will always be available and ready to support the company in the process of carrying out the construction works.
Gor Avetisyan, the executive director of the “Highway Department” foundation, also expressed confidence in the signed agreement. He stated that the cooperation between the construction organization and the technical supervision company will yield positive results. Technical works for the construction of the highway section will begin in the coming weeks.
Robert Petrosyan, the director of the Institute IGH, Joint-Stock Company for Research and Development in Civil Engineering (Croatia), expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in their professional contribution to the field of Armenia’s highway infrastructure. He emphasized that the organization, in addition to technical expertise, will undertake various other activities related to the construction, including planning and laboratory studies.
Petrosyan also stressed the importance of collaboration and assured that they will strive to achieve the best possible results.
Let us remind that the new 32 km long Sisian-Stepanakert highway will have 5 new tunnels, 6 new bridges, 2 new interchanges with a total length of 920 meters, and 17 new culverts, according to the publication.
