“Armenia’s Traffic Police Budget Must Increase as Conflicts Surge with NSS, Resulting in a Rise in Traffic Accident Victims, Opposition Bloc Reveals”
The budget of the traffic police must be increased due to the conflict with the NSS. The number of victims of traffic accidents has increased in Armenia, particularly in the areas of the police and taxi drivers. During a press conference held on November 15, Gegham Manukyan, the spokesperson for the “Armenia” opposition bloc, expressed his concerns.
“The current leadership of Armenia is responsible for the tragic deaths of dozens of working traffic policemen who are on the front lines of ensuring the safety of road traffic. They are being forced to violate regulations and write false reports. In the past few days, two people have even committed suicide due to this immense pressure,” stated Manukyan.
Manukyan further emphasized the insensitivity of the authorities by asking, “What does it take for several hundred thousand drams from these multimillionaires to not hit a person in the face? For example, why can’t Nikol Pashinyan acknowledge that ‘We are a nation’?”
Addressing corruption, Manukyan criticized the “Crossroads of Happiness” symbol on the map of the Prosperous Armenia Party, stating that it hints towards corruption in the government. He expressed his disappointment, stating, “In the government, there isn’t a single person who can proudly declare ‘We are a nation,’ like Petya from Baku. The question regarding the Diaspora is not just a matter of diaspora; it is an international political issue, fundamental to the rule of the Turkish elite.”
As the spokesperson finished his speech, Alek Simonyan, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, intervened, announcing that Gegham Manukyan’s speech would be suspended due to time constraints. However, Manukyan requested a minute to complete his address before the interruption took place.
