“Armenian-Azerbaijani Talks on Border Demarcation Reach Stalemate, Future Meetings Uncertain, says Ambassador”

The Armenian and Azerbaijani ambassadors, who are involved in border demarcation talks as representatives of the mediation process, held their last meeting on July 12. Ambassador Mher Grigoryan confirmed this during a recent meeting with journalists on November 15. When asked about the reason behind the halt in meetings, he explained that the last meeting focused on technical issues and that the format and process of cooperation need to be agreed upon and regulated before further meetings can take place.

When questioned about the possibility of signing a peace agreement by the end of the year, the ambassador stated that he could not provide a specific deadline at this time. In regards to attempts to convince Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to participate in the EAEU meeting, Mher Grigoryan mentioned that he cannot disclose specific information about the negotiations.

This news comes from Armenia and serves as an update on the progress of the border demarcation talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The halt in meetings is seen as an opportunity to address technical issues and establish a clear framework for cooperation. The possibility of signing a peace agreement by the end of the year remains uncertain, and efforts to engage Belarus in the EAEU meeting are ongoing but confidential.
