Renovation Plans for Central Square in Saralang Put on Hold Amidst Municipal Protest: Closure of Key Streets Delayed
Renovation work on the central square in Saralang has hit a roadblock, as the Yerevan Municipality has raised concerns. The scheduled closure of the Saralang – Armenakyan Street stretch, which was set to take place from November 10 until November 13, has been postponed. However, the Matenadaran Square, connecting Saralang Square and Matenadaran Street, will still remain closed. In a statement, the organizers apologized for any inconvenience caused by the temporary disruptions.
The decision to postpone the closure of the Saralang – Armenakyan Street stretch comes as a result of protests from the Yerevan Municipality. This unexpected halt in renovation work has caused some inconvenience to the public, especially those who were expecting the road closure and had planned their routes accordingly.
However, despite the delay, the organizers have assured that the Matenadaran Square will continue to be closed off. This suggests that there are still ongoing renovation activities in that area, which require the closure for safety reasons.
While the exact reasons for the Yerevan Municipality’s protests have not been disclosed, it can be assumed that there were concerns regarding the impact of the road closure on traffic flow and accessibility in the area. The central square in Saralang is an important hub for the city, and any disruptions can have wide-ranging consequences for businesses and residents.
The organizers, in their statement, acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the temporary disturbances and expressed their apologies to the public. They assured that they are working diligently to resolve any issues and minimize disruptions during the renovation work.
