“Tensions Rise in Yerevan: Opposition Leader Blamed for Unrest as Government Investigates”

Life in Yerevan remains tense and far from peaceful following the recent elections, according to the “Zhoghovurd” newspaper. Despite a month passing since the elections, the situation has not shown any signs of improvement. The majority of government officials have shifted the blame onto opposition leader Armenuhi Pambukhchyan for the ongoing unrest. Pambukhchyan is now being seen as a potential candidate for the position of mayor, but concerns arise due to her alleged involvement in the violent acts carried out by protesters demanding justice. Despite these tensions, Pambukhchyan vehemently denies giving any orders for violence and urges her teammates to stand up for the truth. Moreover, she highlights that attributing Konjoryan’s death to her would not hold any realistic ground. Consequently, individuals at the “Zhoghovurd” newspaper report that the government is still thoroughly investigating their own actions and diligently searching for the perpetrators.
