“Armenia Validates Landmark Customs Agreement with India, Boosting Cross-Border Trade and Efficiency”
The Joint Permanent Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of India recently held a meeting to discuss the validation of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of India on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters.” Ashot Muradyan, the representative of the Republic of Armenia’s committee of state revenues, mentioned that they are the first to validate this agreement, as the Government of India has not yet done so.
According to the agreement, both countries are expected to provide administrative assistance in customs matters and exchange information systems to ensure efficient implementation of customs procedures in cross-border trade that is subject to customs control.
The agreement also establishes direct communication between the customs authorities of Armenia and India. This development is believed to have a positive impact on the export and import of certain goods between the two countries. Furthermore, it is expected to aid in the detection of violations of customs regulations during the export and import process from India to Armenia and vice versa.
