“War Continues Unabated: Armenian Church Leader Delivers Stark Reality Check on Ongoing Violence and Collapsing Peace Process”

According to reports, despite claims that the war ended three years ago, recent events prove otherwise. The ongoing violence, mounting casualties, and hostilities indicate that the war is far from over. During a live broadcast on NEWS.am, Ter Mikael Archepiskopos Ajapahyan, the leader of the Armenian Church in Shirk, shed light on the situation. Ajapahyan expressed his disapproval of dignitaries not visiting Erebuni today, stating that their presence would only exacerbate the situation. He questioned their commitment to protecting the land and deemed them unworthy of entering Erebuni.

Continuing his address, Ajapahyan emphasized the heroism of the soldiers of Erebuni, highlighting their actions over the past three years. He asserted that the conflict in Artsakh should be a personal responsibility for every Armenian and criticized those who fail to acknowledge this duty as mercenaries. Ajapahyan’s passionate speech shed light on the importance of solidarity among Armenians and the need to defend their land.

Shifting the focus to Azerbaijan, Ajapahyan applauded Aliyev’s strategic moves, stating that he is demonstrating how Armenia should have acted back in 1994 when they were victorious. Aliyev’s demands, including the expulsion of rebellious villages, the establishment of a corridor, and the return of the Turks, indicate his readiness to continue the war. Ajapahyan believes that these demands are a ploy to buy time and undermine the peace process. He argues that the trust necessary for a successful peace process has been shattered, primarily due to Artsakh no longer remaining Armenian.

When asked about what Armenia should do in this dire situation, Ajapahyan expressed regret that necessary actions were not taken back in 1994. He acknowledged that at present, their options are limited and summed it up with a simple plan: to grow and strengthen their army to outmatch their enemies. While he acknowledged the possibility of achieving this, he also emphasized that it is easier said than done.
