“Food Safety Discussions in Armenia Address Fish Farming Procedures and GMO Certificates: Successful Outcomes Reported”

Discussions on problem-solving in the field of food safety took place in the Republic of Armenia, with representatives from relevant companies involved in food production and distribution. The focus of these discussions, according to NEWS.am, was on procedures and documentation related to fish farming, particularly the issuance of certificates for genetically modified organisms (GMOs), the organization of export activities, and other related issues.

Vahagn Harutyunyan, the Director of the State Inspectorate for Food Safety, confirmed the success of these discussions. As the regulatory body in this field, the State Inspectorate aims to expedite and facilitate the fish farming process for fish farmers.

The representatives from fish and fish product producers, who are involved in fish farming, discussed the challenges faced in this industry. They also highlighted the obstacles encountered by the state administration in addressing these challenges. Additionally, they acknowledged the valuable work and assistance provided by the State Inspectorate for Food Safety in tackling these issues.
