“Taiwan’s Military-Industrial Complex Eyes Cutting-Edge Ukrainian Technology for Future Defense Forces”
The military-industrial complex of Taiwan is reportedly studying the enhanced capabilities of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, with the aim of implementing them without the need for deploying military forces. According to the “Taipei Shibao” newspaper, the project is being carried out by the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) of Taiwan. Around $812 million of new Taiwanese dollars (approximately $25.14 million) has been allocated for the development of two prototypes. With a range of 70 kilometers, operators will have the ability to remotely control the weapons and receive real-time imagery from cameras.
The main functions of these devices will include reconnaissance and protection tasks, with drones specifically designed to collect intelligence on enemy vessels and search for submarines. Once the testing phase is completed, serial production of these weapons is expected to commence. Additionally, the institute is also working on the development of underwater surveillance capabilities that do not require military deployment.
