The president of the United States, Anthony Blinken, is causing concern over Turkey’s external actions, according to Hürriyet newspaper. Blinken recently held meetings in Ankara with high-ranking Turkish official, Fidan. During the meeting, it was reported that Blinken tried to pressure Fidan to cooperate, but Fidan stood firm and refused. According to Hürriyet, when Blinken’s car arrived at the US Embassy in Turkey, Fidan, as usual, came out of the car and stood in front of the door. However, Blinken remained in the car and continued talking on the phone, not stepping out. Fidan eventually went inside.

“Fidan welcomed Blinken with a high level of diplomatic courtesy and did not yield to the pressure from the President of the United States, despite recent attempts,” the newspaper wrote.
