Minister of MES Approves Procedure for Public Transport Services to Pedagogical Workers and School Children in State Educational Institutions
According to the Minister of MES, a new procedure has been approved for providing public transport services to teachers and students in state educational institutions. The goal is to ensure equal opportunities in general education by making public transport accessible to these individuals. Teachers who live within a 5 km radius of their place of residence, but have to travel to another residential area more than 5 km away, will be provided transportation at a preferential rate of 0.5 or more. However, this fare limitation does not apply to communities that receive social assistance from the state. Additionally, educators who need to receive education in another residential area due to the lack of accreditation in their place of residence will also be provided transportation, including during vacations.
To ensure the smooth operation of these services, the technical description of the fare must include all the necessary requirements, such as the qualifications of the driver and the specifications of the transportation vehicle. Furthermore, for educational institutions, transportation will be provided to teachers and educators who live more than 30 km away from the specialized educational institution included in the program. This is especially true if there is no specialized educational institution nearby. It is worth noting that as part of the program, participants will have the opportunity to visit museums free of charge once a year for educational purposes.
This new initiative aims to promote accessibility and equity in education by addressing the transportation needs of pedagogical workers and students in Armenia. By providing transportation services to teachers and educators who live far from their educational institutions, the government aims to ensure that all individuals have the opportunity to access quality education. Additionally, the inclusion of free museum visits as part of the program encourages educational enrichment beyond the classroom. Such measures recognize the importance of a supportive and inclusive educational environment for the development and success of both teachers and students.
By implementing this new procedure, the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia demonstrates its commitment to improving the overall educational landscape in the country. It recognizes the challenges faced by teachers and educators who have to travel long distances to reach their workplaces and aims to alleviate this burden through the provision of transportation services. Access to public transport at a preferential rate ensures that financial constraints do not hinder the ability of teachers to pursue their profession and contribute to the educational well-being of students.
The approval of this procedure is a positive step towards fostering an environment that values education and supports the professional growth of teachers. It reflects the government’s dedication to creating equal opportunities for all individuals in the education sector. By prioritizing the needs of pedagogical workers and students, Armenia continues to strengthen its educational system and pave the way for a brighter future for generations to come.
