“Armenia Takes Azerbaijan to International Court of Justice Amidst Chemical Weapons Accusations – A Push for Justice and the Right of Return”
On November 7th, Mger Margaryan, the representative of Armenia in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, attended a meeting at the Headquarters of the MFA to discuss the case related to Rasayan chemical weapons at the ICJ. This case was initiated by Armenia against Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Margaryan emphasized the importance of international law in exposing all forms of chemical aggression committed by Azerbaijan against the civilian population of Armenia. He particularly highlighted the recent large-scale military aggression against Artsakh, which took place on September 27th.
In light of these events, Armenia has sought the Court’s assistance in utilizing international mechanisms to ensure the safe and dignified return of the displaced population from Artsakh to their homes. Margaryan emphasized that the ICJ holds a significant role in safeguarding the rights of the displaced population and enforcing decisions pertaining to international law.
