“Ministry of Education Plans Changes in Textbook Creation Process, “Fact” Newspaper Reports”
“Fact” newspaper has reported that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports is proposing changes to the regulations for creating textbooks. The new regulations aim to include experts who can actively contribute to the textbook creation process. This move comes as the publication of textbooks for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year has required a competition format, following the new state standard in the Republic of Armenia.
To allow for greater involvement, authors and teachers have been given the opportunity to participate in the textbook creation process since 2022. However, certain challenges have emerged during the implementation phase. In order to address these issues, a project has been proposed to revise the educational material. This project will undergo a systematic process, with working groups and defined procedures and requirements.
To ensure the effectiveness of pedagogical and psychological methods, a group of academic experts, including members of academic staff and organizations involved in education, as well as educational psychologists, will analyze the implementation process. The results of this comprehensive effort are expected to lead to improved regulations and the creation of higher quality textbooks.
