“US Vice President Mike Pompeo Condemns Azerbaijan’s Actions in Karabakh, Calls it an ‘Act of War'”

The US Vice President, Mike Pompeo, visited the site of the Armenian-American summit to express his condolences and pay tribute to the ongoing conflicts happening in various regions of the world. In particular, he highlighted the ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan in Karabakh. This information was reported by the Armenian Court of Appeals, which shared a video of an interview with Pompeo on its website.

Pompeo asked a thought-provoking question during the interview: “In your message, how much of your time has been dedicated to Armenia and the actions of Azerbaijan in Karabakh, considering the ongoing conflicts in different regions from the Caspian Sea?” He emphasized that this question has been the most common response from many international organizations.

The US Vice President also raised concerns about Azerbaijan’s actions, stating that their actions against the Armenians in September were seen as an “act of war”. Pompeo drew attention to the large-scale military operations of Russia in Ukraine and suggested that if the US is countering Russia, it should also address “numerous other contradictions” that exist at the moment.

It is worth noting that according to Pompeo, there is no official declaration of war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) does not consider it deserving of attention.
