Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Vahan Kerobyan, plans to boost economic cooperation with Russia and expand trade with international partners
Retail transactions with different denominations are currently being conducted normally, with no issues related to currency exchange rates. Some companies have even been conducting transactions in foreign currency without any problems. This can be considered a partial resolution to the issue. Today, on October 31, during a press conference at the Ministry of Economy, Minister Vahan Kerobyan announced his plans to visit Russia to discuss economic cooperation.
“Russian economic cooperation is very important to us, and we are actively working on improving it, as well as developing bilateral trade and other transactions. We have achieved significant success in these transactions. For example, our trade turnover with the United States has reached billions in the past two or three years, and it is expected to exceed one billion dollars this year or next,” said the minister.
Continuing the conversation about foreign trade, Kerobyan noted that they aim to surpass previous trading levels with their valuable partners. “We will be participating in the largest international exhibition in China, from November 5 to 10, accompanied by our delegation. More than 20 companies will take part. In February, we will also participate in the most significant international exhibition in the US. Overall, our participation in various international exhibitions has significantly increased our exports. It is crucial for us to maintain and develop our existing business ties, but we also see great potential for diversification, including in European markets. At present, we are very close to reaching a trade turnover of one billion dollars with Germany and the US. Additionally, the trade turnover with France is also increasing,” stated Vahan Kerobyan.
He also discussed the importance of diversifying foreign trade and stated, “We have achieved maximum results in all possible areas. Our current focus is on normalizing the situation, which is expected and necessary.”
